TRIO ELPO
TRIO ELPO was born in 2016 from a shared musical language between three friends — Jānis Rubiks, Edgars Cīrulis, and Rūdolfs Dankfelds. Moving freely across genres, the trio creates original music that blends the openness of jazz, the depth of contemporary classical music, and the raw energy of rock.
Their sound unfolds through expansive, immersive sonic landscapes, driven by powerful rhythmic motion and an intuitive dialogue between the musicians. Meditative one moment and intensely alive the next, they explore the space where structure meets spontaneity.
At the heart of TRIO ELPO is the pursuit of flow — creating spaces of presence, connection, and shared musical experience while merging the strongest elements of multiple musical worlds into a distinct and evolving voice.
Over the years, the trio has actively performed in Latvia and internationally, with concerts in Germany, Lithuania, and Norway. They have collaborated three times with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and shared the stage with internationally recognised soloists including John Ruocco, Julie Silvera, and Rokas Zubovas, as well as leading Latvian artists such as Beāte Zviedre, Toms Rudzinskis, Liene Skrebinska, Kristīne Cīrule, and others.
*Trio was known as Equanimity Trio from 2016 to 2022.
